Seven Things I Want to do Before I Die

I know many folks have bucket lists – I don’t. I don’t have what I would consider a “real” bucket list, because for me, I know realistically that the things on my list wouldn’t happen. I’m not being a pessimist here, but my life has been devoted for the past 29 years to caring for my son (he is severely disabled), which is a 24/7 job that is very hard to get away from for any length of time now that he’s an adult. Aside from that, I certainly wouldn’t ever consider doing anything that would risk the possibility of me dying sooner than later – like sky diving – I’m good on that despite that it looks so relaxing.

That said, I do have some aspirations, and mine surely aren’t elaborate, but hey, it’s my list, and they’re my dreams, and I’m what you could consider a conservative kind of gal.

Wearing Coveralls for Men

Me – work outdoors? Not in this lifetime! That is just not my idea of a good time. I hate the heat and I hate the cold. There are those though who don’t mind the elements of the outdoors, and I commend them. If it weren’t for many men and women who tend to be driven to work outside – just think of how that would effect our lives, our lifestyles. That said, if I was to be inclined to work outside – I would find it a must to wear protective clothing like coveralls for men.

Why would it be that I would need to wear coveralls? It’s like this – I am far from a careful person. I ruin more clothing doing chores like dishes and laundry, and even cooking. When doing dishes – my shirts end up being full of stains. I am soaked by the time I am done – NO joking here. When I do laundry, and as careful as I really try to be (I really do try) – I end up getting bleach all over me.

I have a wardrobe of clothing that I just wear at home – stains and all. I don’t think twice if I was to have company stop by and how I would look – doesn’t matter to me. It’s gotten to the point where I need to save some clothing for when I head out the door.

Can you even begin to imagine what I would do to my clothing if I worked outside? My work clothing would be all torn to shreds and imbedded with dirt and stains that I couldn’t get clean no matter what. I’d be wiping my dirty hands wherever just like when I go fishing – if I don’t have a wet rag beside me – I wipe the worm dirt on my pants (I have two pairs of pants just for fishing). When I stain or paint outside – I end up having it be all over my shoes and clothing.

Sure – a solution could be wearing an apron, except they’re not for me. I can’t stand anything tied around my neck including necklaces. I could even wear coveralls for men – but they are too much work for me when it’s time to go potty. If I worked outside, wearing coveralls for men would make me plain ugly – I’d be way too hot. I’ve narrowed it down, coveralls for men for whatever reason, is not happening in this lifetime for me. I’ll leave the coveralls for those who I appreciate 🙂

You ask, “what the difference is between mlearning and elearning?” Honestly, they are very similar, except, mlearning is made for learning on the go. This is where a computer or laptop would not be the vehicle used to gather information, but rather a smart phone or a tablet – a true mobile internet enabled device. Mlearning would be provided by a mobile learning company. Mlearning requires the deliverability to be tailored for a smartphone. Mlearning is more basic and shorter in length than elearning.

Living in New England brings dramatic seasonal changes in the weather and scenery. I find with each season that I have this strong urge to redecorate and add new items to several rooms in my home. Given that, it’s a must that I stretch my budget and have to find the best bargains on home and garden furniture and accessories.

When winter began to set in this past fall, the urge hit where I decided my bedroom needed to be spruced up with a new bedding ensemble. Off shopping I went (online of course) to find just the right ensemble at the right price. Through all my efforts, I did find the perfect one. Now if I could only manage to hem the curtains I bought 3 years ago and get them up – I’d be good to go.

I remember as a child going to my mother’s work when she had scheduled doctor appointments for me. There, in her office, she had a desk with lots of office supplies. I was very much intrigued, and literally infatuated, by all these gadgets. I couldn’t wait to play with them all.

Electric Heaters

Right now I am wishing I had bothered to look into electric heaters. I really need one :(. Why? It’s winter. It’s cold. My body is warm except for my feet and ankles, which are stone cold. The heat is up as high as it’s going to go – I refuse to turn it up higher – my heating bill is much too expensive as it is. I have a blanket wrapped around the lower half of my body while sitting here at my desk typing this. The blanket is intertwined with my feet and legs and they just aren’t getting warm. This is the case 90% of the time while sitting at my desk these days and the very reason I need to look into electric heaters.

It’s winter in New England! The chill of the cold has set in and all my mind is worrying about is what the next electric bill is going to cost me. It’s times like these when I really wish we had solar panels – we could be saving a lot of money. We have propane heat, the furnace of course runs on electricity, and that furnace is coming on quite frequently. You add the heater in my son’s room, which also is propane powered but needs electricity to operate, it’s running at times – almost non-stop. And then there’s my daughter’s room. It’s so cold in her room that we purchased a room heater just for her room – and that too is electric powered.

Some day I might just find myself investing in solar panels. Between the cost of the summertime electric bill and the wintertime electric bill – we could save ourselves a lot of money in the long run. It’s said the initial outlay of funds would be recouped in 5-7 years because you’d no longer be paying to ‘rent’ your electricity from the electric company. Coupling that with how it is such an Eco-friendly energy solution, I would feel good about doing my part in promoting a cleaner environment for my children, their children, and so on down the line. There’s also the option of renting solar panels. Renting panels could be a great alternative depending on your electric bill and your budget.
