This post brought to you by Comfort and Harmony. All opinions are 100% mine.

Back 30 years ago when I nursed my son there weren’t any products on the market to aid in the comfort of nursing my baby. I used to prop him up on a regular bed pillow and it wasn’t always an easy task to accomplish. The pillow had to be set just right and his little body needed to be set just right on the pillow. Today though – it amazes me how many cool nursing aid products are out on the market and the mombo nursing pillow has to be at the top.

Mombo Nursing Pillow
The Mombo is unique in the way of its unique shape plus having a two-sided design called Firm2Soft with each side of the nursing pillow offering a different experience. The firm side gives the essential support for moms nursing their baby. The soft side has an extra coziness about it, which is an inviting place for tummy or lounging time. The Mombo gets even better than that!

Handmade Mother's Day Gifts

Novica for Handmade Mother’s Day Gifts and Giveaway

Looking for a special Mother’s Day Gift?  You may not have to look much further – especially if you like giving unique Handmade Mother’s Day Gifts. Personally, I love giving handmade gifts and I love to give unique gifts.  I love to give gifts that have a thought behind them rather than – here – here’s a bouquet of flowers and box of chocolates.  Those type of gifts say to me, that yes, you thought about me…but….  That’s not to say that I am ungrateful when receiving a gift – I just have this thing about putting a little extra thought into a gift when I give it.

Each one of these items below are found at the Novica.com website.  They are all handmade, all unique and all have a story behind the Artisan.

From left to right: Sterling silver dangle earrings, ‘Infinito’, Cotton scarf, ‘Azure Festival’, Cotton handbag, ‘Green Plaid Elephant’

Labels – when you look at all the products on the market – they all have some type of label. I never really thought about how many types of labels that there are until I was looking to find custom printed labels for a project that I was helping someone with. I know that we can get printed labels and custom stickers for envelopes and such, but those weren’t the kind of labels I was on the hunt for.

Gardening, me? Who would have ever thought? Surely, not I. I don’t like the feeling of dirt on my hands – especially dry dirt. But there I was – digging and planting. Weeding and watering. And here 20 years later after my first encounter with a flower garden – I am thinking that I should invest in my own little greenhouse. Greenhouses come in various shapes and sizes. I’m sure I’d find one that would fit my needs and at the right price.

Designer Tips for Window Treatments

designer curtains

Window treatments can dramatically impact the way a room looks and feels. Whether you are starting from scratch or trying create an entirely different look in a room, there are certain points to consider when trying to narrow down window treatments for your desired space. Finding the right window treatments depends on a number of factors, including style preferences, the amount of light you want to let into a room, how much privacy you want, and your budget.

Getting Started

Before you start brainstorming, get the basics out of the way first. Measure your windows twice. This is just to make sure that you get the measurements right. There is nothing more frustrating than finding the perfect window treatments and finding out that they don’t fit. This is especially a problem with shades and blinds. Start a notebook that includes:

  • Window measurements
  • Color choices (at least narrow it down)
  • Basic color scheme of the room you are designing
  • Inspiration ideas (don’t worry about your budget right now, just jot down ideas)

Spring seems to bring out the organizing in me – more so than any other time of the year. I think this may because the rest of the year seems to be so busy. I’ll usually start spring cleaning right after the holidays. Beginning at one end of the house working my way to the other end – I clean from top to bottom washing walls, windows, curtains, blinds, drawers cleaned out and organized, closets cleaned out, and all furniture washed and moved with the entire floor being cleaned and the room totally decluttered. I try to leave no stone unturned – except for the ceilings, which are nasty popcorn ceilings – they get vacuumed. spring cleaning MusicMagpie Continue reading »

prom dress

prom dressAre you facing the cost of a prom dress?  Although I’m not, I thought I would share with you what I would do if I had prom expenses coming up.  My idea might not save you a ton – but all savings count and all savings add up…especially when you piggyback your savings.

Since it’s hard at times to tell if a prom dress will be the right fit – start by having your prom-goer search various online stores having a brick and mortar store also in your area.  See if they can find anything that they like.  If they find something, you might be able to tell if your local store has it in stock.  If they do great, as a trip to the store to try the article on will give you and your prom-goer a better sense if the prom dress is a good fit.

blog friendly pr

blog friendly pr hire bloggers

Have you heard of BlogFriendlyPR.com (BFPR)? BFPR is a community where bloggers can connect in many different ways. It’s similar to Facebook groups but on a larger level. Bloggers benefit from there being a community forum. The forum is where one will find topics from connecting on social media, tossing around ideas, helping one another solve a problem, encouragement, networking, and much more.  And, they hire bloggers for reviews/monetization (more on that below).

Let’s first talk about the networking – If you’ve never networked with other bloggers then it’s really worth your advantage to do so. You can learn so much and you might have something to offer that could be valuable to another blogger. You can gain more social media followers, join in on other blogger’s giveaways, learn of available opps, and learn tips and tricks to making your blogging efforts more productive. Seriously, networking IS great.

In addition, Blog Friendly PR is a place where they hire bloggers to facilitate a brand’s campaign. So, if you’re interested in campaigns that have been organized and coordinated for you, you’ll find these at Blog Friendly PR and without having to pay to receive the offers. And, you need not be an Elite member either. Personally, I really like this set-up. If I don’t want to apply for a campaign, I’m not obligated.  I also am not overly thrilled with paying someone to find opportunities for me.

itson beta program

Don’t miss out – the deadline to be a part of this Smartphone Beta Program is nearing!

A couple weeks back I wrote a post on a new Innovative Smartphone Beta Program – you can go {here} to read that post – it’s loaded with information.  Today, I just wanted to follow up with you in case you missed the first post.  I don’t want you to miss out on this money savings opportunity where you can save yourself money on your cell phone bill – if there is a way.

The beauty of this Smartphone Plan is that you only pay for what you need.  If you use very little minutes for talk time – only pay for what you need.  If you don’t text a lot (that’s me), only pay for what you need.  Don’t want a data plan?  Don’t pay for one.  YOU customize the plan to fit your needs.  You can share everything with many phones – whatever your needs are.
