When approached to review Noxicare Natural Pain Relief Cream, I was more than happy to do so. I am fairly well educated when it comes to pharmaceuticals and just how bad they can be for a person’s body. Granted – many of us wouldn’t live the quality of life that we do without prescription meds; however, if there is a way to limit our exposure to the side effects our bodies can endure by finding an alternative that works just as well – I’m all for it.
And frankly, if at all possible – all natural works for me. I believe we were given all the natural tools we need to live a healthy life – we just needed to figure out how to piece them together so they will work for us.

I am not a fan of sweet cereals so when I was asked if I’d like to review the Honey Roasted Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal – I was all for it. That being said, are you a cereal fan? Do you like oat clusters? If you do, I believe you’d really enjoy this crunchy cereal that stands up to milk. The cereal did not turn to mush by the time I hit the bottom of the bowl. It was loaded with clusters of crunchy oats amongst larger cereal flakes….it was delish!
I was given the opportunity to try the Honey Roasted Honey Bunches of Oats; however if you’d prefer one with fruits or nuts, the cereal comes in the following flavors: Pecan Bunches, Almonds, Strawberries, Raisin Medley, Banana Blueberry and Peach Raspberry. You’ll also come across these flavors – Cinnamon Bunches and Vanilla Bunches. Now that’s a whole lot of variety for one brand of cereal!
Our family loves nuts and we love dried fruits. So when the opportunity arose to review Bella Viva Orchards Gourmet Fruits & Nuts, I saw the opportunity to try something we don’t normally buy – gourmet fruits and nuts. I was sent a 3lb gift package, which is what you see below, and what a difference from the ones you buy at the grocery store.
When my package arrived and I opened the box I found two trays exactly as they are displayed above. The trays consisted of single layers of fruits or nuts with styrofoam sheets beneath them, placed in the decorative tray, and wrapped with bows.
Jennie Withers does a remarkable job in writing her book, Hey, Get a Job! A Teen Guide for Getting and Keeping a Job. I was asked if I’d like to review the book. I jumped at the chance and I’m so glad I did. With having a 14-yr. old, I thought this would be great reading material for her. We all know that kids don’t always believe what their parents say. Reading this guide will affirm everything a parent has said and more when it comes to getting a job.
Jennie starts Hey, Get a Job! off with "The Rules of Life" by Charles Sykes. Now you have to read these if you haven’t! They are so very true. The material is very easy to read and focused. You’ll find inspirational quotes throughout. Jennie sections off the guide to make it easy for the reader.
The guide is sectioned off as follows:
Who Will Hire Me? – This section references the labor laws for teens.
All Those Blanks – From the application to the first impression – learn how to not make it the last.
Don’t Panic, It’s Just a Resume – Learn how to complete an application and resume correctly
I’m Speechless – Giving tips on making the interview a success and not a nightmare.
So Now I work, Right? Wrong! – This section is devoted to what the process is after you’re hired such as all the forms, and things employers want you to learn before starting the job.
What Do You want from Me? – How you can avoid being fired.
In the Long Run – Learn how not to be taken advantage of by an employer. Learn how to avoid the pitfalls of having a job and making money.
You’ll encounter STOP signs throughout the book. These will be followed by instructions to write. Note pages are found at the end of each section for these important assignments. Lastly, there is a FAQ section.
Hey, Get a Job! is literally chock-full of information. Personally, it would be nice to see all high schools to implement Hey, Get a Job! in their curriculum. For now though – parents are on their own in teaching their kids about getting a job. Jennie’s guide can help you
You’ll find the guide at Amazon.com along with the Teacher’s Edition. You can also try to win one for yourself. Entry is easy – Rafflecopter powered.
MacX DVD Ripper Pro software by Digiarty is a backup and ripping solution for Mac and Windows users. One can rip DVD’s to iPhones, iPads including the new iPad 3, iPods, iTunes and more. The software is basically an all-in-one solution for one’s ripping and file conversion needs. I recall needing to convert a file my daughter had to or from AVI (can’t remember which now) – what a time I had finding a free one that actually worked after installing it. I was never so frustrated. Had I had this program at the time it would have been a breeze to convert that music file she had.
Being two versions available – one for Macs and one for Windows – I was able to give the windows version a whirl. My goal was to rip DVD’s to my computer to upload to our iPad and my daughter’s iPod. I found the interface of the software confusing at first; but I was quickly able to catch on to what the options were all about using the support provided by the company and their website.

I am always struggling to find new and unique gift ideas for my Parents and Grandparents. You know they have everything imaginable so it becomes difficult to shop for them. One day I was scouring the Internet for a creative gift that I could get for the Grandparents. They are always saying how they miss the grandkids so I was looking for something special. I already did various types of picture frames, photo mugs, t-shirts and the like. So when I came across Vizardz.com I was truly thankful. They sell these really amazing 2.5D pictures that could be put on lamps, light boxes, and ornaments. All you have to do is send them a picture and they will create a 2.5D insert out of it. I sent them a picture of my two kids and they created a beautiful 2D Light box that I plan on giving to their Grandparents.
Qbedding is an online retailer offering more than just bedding. Bedding, is by far their specialty, but one can also purchase seat covers, neck support pillows, pillows, an array of stunning umbrellas, curtains and much more. I was recently asked to review one of their 3-pc quilt sets. I chose the one you see below made by Mercury – no, the fur babies are mine – there was just no way I was going to get this on the bed without them torturing me.
I have to tell you – I hadn’t read the details on the packaging – that is until I went to write this review. I was surprised to learn the quilt was made of 100% polyester. I would have never thought that to be the case. The fabric feels like it’s very expensive cotton – no kidding! It’s so soft – almost having the feeling of the expensive cotton sateen sheets one can buy. I was actually worried about how much the quilt would shrink after being washed as I was placing it on my bed. My mind was quickly set at ease, as since it’s made of polyester, it shouldn’t shrink at all.
The size I chose was for a queen-size bed. If I was to do it all over again, I would have ordered the king size, and here’s why – I have a queen-size bed with deep mattresses. The queen size did not cover the end of my mattress, and I am not one for rolling down the first foot or so at the top of the bed when I make it, which if I were, then the quilt would have covered the end. Of course, this is all a matter of preference:)
As you can see above, Chunka Chunka has everything under control. She’s decided she’s taking my side of the bed (not)! All kidding aside, do you see the pillow covers? Do you see how one is of a rosebud-like pattern and the other matches the quilt pattern itself (you can also see this in the first picture near the bottom of the bed and to the right)? This is because this quilt is completely reversible. In addition, if you enlarge the picture above, you can see the nicely added detail of the satin ribbons used to tie the back opening together. The pillow covers themselves are a generous size and constructed of the same material as the quilt.
Although I couldn’t find this particular quilt set on their site, there are many more. Qbedding also carries ‘green’ products including, organic quilts, pillows, a bamboo series and the tatami series. They also have a line of home products, and products for kids.

Because I Tried It specializes in creating personalized digital gifts at a real decent price. I received the Birthday Chronicle for review purposes. I chose to have this personalized for my daughter. After filling out the form, it wasn’t long before I received an email with a PDF file attached, chronicling my the day of my daughter’s birth.
Speaking of printing it out. I always do a test run before I print something such as this. This is so that I don’t waste the more expensive card stock that I will print it on before I mount it. I wanted the chronicle to print on the entire face of the paper. In order to do this, I had to adjust my settings on the print screen – not a problem. I was a tad bit disappointed that the chronicle didn’t have the same side margins. This may be done on purpose on Because I Tried It’s end or maybe it’s my printer settings. Again, not a big deal, I will just cut off the excess on the left side. After I print this out on card stock, I will be adding The Birthday Chronicle to my daughter’s baby book. She will have it for many years to come. Maybe some day she will want to frame it to display it in her home.
As far as the Birthday Chronicle itself – it is 8 1/2 x 11 in dimensions that can be purchased via 4 different options, ranging from $2.00 to $20.00. It also includes a greeting, by name, from the then-President of the US, along with major newspaper headlines and stories that took place the year of the person’s birth.
The Birthday Chronicle is one of many different choices found at Because I Tried It. The Anniversary Almanac would be great for an anniversary gift. There are letters from Santa, the Easter Bunny, and Tooth Fairy. You can view all the different products offered {HERE}
