Adult bladder leakage doesn’t know any boundaries. There are more women in their 20’s than in their 80’s that experience, this once not-talked about issue, than any other age group. The average age is 52. Though, seriously, more people with bladder leakage are 50 or younger, than 60 or older! In reality, more than 65 million people experience bladder leakage.
Experiencing bladder leakage for me happens when I get a virus. I tend to get viral induced asthma along with the virus and along with that comes the coughing and bladder leakage. Then there are certain medications that seem to affect my bladder. That’s right, certain medications will cause bladder leakage, but that doesn’t change the fact that the medication needed can be discontinued. So one lives with the side effect until the med is no longer needed. If my allergies are acting up – there’s a lot of coughing from crap running down the back of my throat. That presents bladder leakage. Of course, I’m sure having children doesn’t help the issue either.
So what does one do when they need dependable protection for bladder leakage?
With there being so many products on the market, the choice is hard to make. I certainly know that I don’t want to wear a thick “diaper-like” product. And then there are times when just a thin liner isn’t enough. What I do know is that I want to feel as feminine as I can and not like I’m reverting back to the baby stage of wearing a diaper.
