Ultra Sleeves™ Clear Disposable Protective Sleeve Review
Ultra Sleeves are for those who value their electronic tablets. These sleeves protect against moisture and spills, static electricity, scratches, sand, dirt and bacteria. I was sent a package that fits the iPad 2, iPad 3, and iPad 4 to discover for myself what they are all about. There are other sizes available for the iPad Mini and the Kindle Fire HD – 7″.
So you ask – what are these made of?
The sleeves are made from an acid free, high quality, recyclable plastic film – the same that you would find in the collectibles industry. However these also have the added benefit of an anti-static feature. Each sleeve consists of two resealable double adhesive strips – providing an a double seal that also allows easy access for charging.
When would you use these?
- For using your device in the kitchen when cooking, doing dishes, etc.
- At the pool-side, lakes, or the ocean.
- Around children
- In the bathroom
- In the car
What are our feelings on the Ultra Sleeves?
They fit our device very well. We had no issues using the touch screen. We did notice that the sound wasn’t as clear with the sleeve on. We had no issue with internet connectivity. Being able to charge the device, say in the kitchen while working, is easy enough to do by just undoing the resealable seals to get to the recharging port. Access to the volume button wasn’t an issue.
All in all, I do think it’s worth-while to invest in protection for your devices. This is where sometimes you have to spend money to save money. I’d rather spend $7 -$8 on a protection product than to have to replace a device worth $200 – $500 because of moisture/sand/scratches etc., ruining my device. Plus – protecting your device can make your device more versatile and last longer – especially if it’s near water where moisture can get trapped inside.
