It’s National Mushroom Month – do you know what the benefits of eating mushrooms are for your body?

These ready to eat little buggers (well, you should wash them) are loaded with beneficial nutrients the body needs. Mushrooms are a low calorie, fat-free, cholesterol-free, gluten-free food option which are very low in sodium. Now, you wouldn’t think they’d give you the nutritional punch that they do but they provide the body with these important nutrients/minerals and more:
- riboflavin
- B vitamins
- niacin
- potassium
- vitamin D
- selenium
It’s even been said that they can help prevent certain types of cancers. There’s a lot to learn about mushrooms and the punch they give our bodies.
