As a mother of a teen, I know what it is like to worry about the safety of a teen in today’s times.  Times aren’t like when I was a kid and my mother set the curfew of – when the street lights come on – you come in, or when I could ride my bike anywhere – even 2 miles down the road, as long as I told mom where I was going.

Back then – life was so different.  The population wasn’t as large.  Individuals with mental health issues were housed at the State Hospital and not out in the general population.  Sexual predators weren’t as prevalent in society; nor were serial killers, or kidnappers.

Today though – parents are faced with all the above PLUS the access to the internet and social media.  Parents of teens have to be on their toes at all times.  This is where TeenSafe can be the answer to a lot of those worries.

Quite frankly, I get criticized by other parents for being so anal about wanting to know about my 16yo’s whereabouts, who she’s talking to, monitoring her Facebook etc.  But you know what?  I really don’t care.  It’s MY job to make sure she’s safe and making the right choices.  She’s a teen – and teens certainly don’t have the experience behind them to know danger like an older adult.
