matcha de mark green tea review

You don’t have to be a tea drinker to get the health benefits of green tea.  That is, not when you cook with Matcha De Mark Green Tea Powder.

If you didn’t know, Matcha Green Tea is one of the best teas to consume.  The difference between Matcha Green Tea vs. Green Tea is that one consumes the entire leaf of the tea.  There is no steeping involved.  You can drink it as a hot tea (that is my favorite way to consume it) or you can make lattes, smoothies, or bake with it to get the benefits of Matcha Tea.

Whichever way you decide to consume it – it’s LOADED with antioxidants and you’ll reap the health benefits it provides, including these:

  • Matcha builds up your immunity
  • Matcha boosts memory, enhances calm and increase energy levels
  • Matcha will help with weight loss
  • Matcha is high in antioxidants

Matcha has many health benefits: Matcha can now be found in numerous health food products ranging from cereal to energy bars. In 2003, researchers from the University of Colorado found that the concentration of the antioxidant EGCG available from drinking matcha is at least three times greater than the amount of EGCG available from other commercially available green teas. The aforementioned health benefits of matcha green tea may be attributed to the fact that the whole tea leaf is ingested, as opposed to just the steeped water in the case of ‘bagged’ green teas. This means that it delivers a much higher potency of catechins, chlorophyll, and antioxidants. By weight, matcha contains several dozen times more antioxidants (> 1000 mmol/100g) than blueberries (~9 mmol/100g), wolfberries, pomegranates, orange juice, spinach (~1 mmol/100g) or dark chocolate (~11 mmol/100g). There is evidence from clinical studies that suggests that theanine, when consumed by drinking Japanese green teas, may help to reduce or moderate mental stress responses.

If you’re looking to lose weight – here’s what is said about Matcha Green Tea:

A study by Kao et al (2000), reported the following: “We found that EGCG (found in Matcha Green Tea)…significantly reduced food intake and body weight.” This highlights how Matcha Green Tea works to suppress your appetite through regulating hormones such as Leptin which tell your brain that you are satisfied and full.  Furthermore, a recent publication by the American Society of Clinical Nutrition found that frequent consumption of quality Matcha Green Tea enhances the efficiency of the human body in utilizing energy. The research showed that the daily energy expenditure rate of adults increases 35-45% with regular consumption of Matcha Green Tea.

The tea arrived in a resealable aluminum-type pouch.  A couple days after ordering – we received the recipe eBook in our inbox.  It’s loaded with some fabulous recipes.  Each recipe calls for 1-2 teaspoons of the matcha green tea powder.

I’m sure you get that the green in this photo is the Matcha Green Tea Powder 🙂

Matcha Green Tea Powder

For my smoothie – I used:

  • 1.5 cups milk
  • 1 frozen banana
  • 2 tablespoons of Chia Seeds (my newest favorite food)
  • 2 scoops protein powder
  • 2 teaspoons Matcha Green Tea Powder

Toss it all in the blender and blend away!  I had no issue with the green tea powder mixing with the rest of the ingredients, or getting stuck on the blender walls, but should have an issue – try dissolving the green tea powder in a bit of water and then add it to your recipe.

As I stated earlier on – I like to drink the tea as a hot tea.  I prefer a stronger tea, so I use a good teaspoonful of the tea in a coffee cup of hot water.  I notice that by the time I’m done my cup of tea that I feel much more focused and more alert.

Tip:  It is recommended to keep the Matcha Green Tea in the freezer as it keeps it the freshest.

  1. The Matcha De Mark Green Tea Powder sounds like a great product, I like that it is 100% USDA Organic, it provides all day energy, and it is loaded with antioxidants. I actually drink green tea every day, but not Matcha Green Tea. I really need to give this product a try. Thank you for sharing this review.
