We set sail on Classic Harbor’s Schooner Adirondack III Boston Mass and what a time we had! It was a hot, humid, cloudy day with a chance of thunderstorms, but the crew knew what they were doing from reading the radar and took us out on a beautiful excursion of Boston Harbor as the radar said – you’re not getting the storm. I was so excited to hear that news because I had never been on a sail boat – of any magnitude.
However – had the radar changed when we were out in the Harbor and should we have needed to take cover – going down under in the boat would have been okay. This vessel was equipped with a kitchen, table, bathroom in addition to the seating atop. The vessel was clean and well maintained.
Once aboard the Schooner we were introduced to the crew. The captain explained to us what to expect from the crew, the sail, and what we could and couldn’t do aboard the boat. We were offered beverages during the sail…which was a nice touch since it was so hot.
The pictures here are all from the sailboat. I can’t tell you what is what now, but I can tell you the historical points were so nice to learn about – the crew told us about them as we came upon them. We saw many planes take off from Boston Logan Airport.
The crew was very personable and made sure everyone was enjoying their sail. The entire sail was very relaxing, and if I could do this once a month – I would. My fifteen-year-old enjoyed the sail as much as I did. Since the cruise is two hours long – visiting Quincy Market or the Aquarium can be done the same day, if you plan your visit right. We went into Quincy Market after the sail and enjoyed a nice dinner at Cheers.
If you’re ever able to get to the Boston Harbor – I would highly suggest taking a sail upon Classic Harbor’s Schooner Adirondack III. I bet the night sail is the ultimate – I want to do that one next!
