If you are planning an upcoming getaway, do you have definite plans set?

That said, finding discounts on your next getaway doesn’t have to be like pulling teeth.

When you put some time and effort into the task, you might find some surprise with what you can come away with.

So, is it time to go in search of trip discounts?

Deals Can Be Right in Front of You

When looking for ideas on savings for your next trip, keep these pointers in mind:

  1. Discounts to find – You may think there aren’t many discounts out there. That said you’d be wrong to have that belief. If you want to find discounted Disneyland tickets or savings to other venues, do research. Along with the website of a specific venue, look for companies’ also selling savings. With enough research, you are all but guaranteed to find what you are looking for.
  2. Rely on family and friends – Your family and friends can be great sources in finding discounts. As an example, you might have friends who go to Disneyland or other likewise venues during the year. In turn, they can let you know when the theme park is offer discounts. The same is true on hotels, rental cars and more. All it takes is some word-of-mouth marketing or sending you a link or two and you could be on your way to finding savings.
  3. Getting on mailing lists – Yes, some brands will bombard you with their sales pitches. That said being on company mailing lists can work to your benefit. Whether that means regular mail or even email, get your name and relevant contact info out there. Before long, you will have companies sending you updates on upcoming events. They may also send you discounted offers since you have done business with them before. The same can hold true if you show a desire to do business for the first time.
  4. Reach out to businesses – While there are no guarantees this will work, what does it hurt to try it? Contact companies of interest and ask them if they have any deals ongoing. If they say they do not, let them know one or more competitors do. Before too long, you might get a call back or email etc. that you have potential savings coming your way. Even though companies want to make money, they do not want unhappy consumers around. If they can find a way to please you and make some money in the process, it is a win-win for both parties.

In trying to save whatever money you can on your next getaway, you’ll need to put the time and effort required into it.

Whether going in the summer, Christmastime or any other time, don’t assume you can’t find savings.

There is nothing better than having a great getaway and still coming home with extra money.
