We cannot survive without water – it’s impossible since 70% of our body consists of water and 85% of the brain does too.  That said, it’s important to make sure that you’re drinking water that is meant for human consumption.  Our drinking water needs to be free of contaminants.  Companies like Nicolet Natural Artesian Water ‘get’ what we need our drinking water to consist of – especially tap water.   One doesn’t want to drink water that is laced with lead, e-coli, parasites and other bacterias.  There also are several gastrointestinal diseases found in water like giardia.  Nicolet has bottled water that has been purified and filters for water taps to eliminate as many contaminants as possible.

Since the human body needs water for optimal brain function, hydration for all the internal organs, chewing and swallowing, joints and cartilage, skin and even our eyes, you can see why it’s important to our health to consume this fluid.  We can simply drink water, whether it is tap water or bottled water to give the body what it needs; however, there are many foods which contain water like celery, lettuce, watermelon, and Popsicles.  The foods we eat containing water can count towards the 8 – 8 oz. glasses of water that is recommended each day.

Our body naturally looses water daily just to keep up with our bodily functions.  This is why it’s so important to replenish those fluids daily and if we don’t stay well hydrated we become dehydrated.  Dehydration can effect all our internal organs and our skin.  Nearly 75% of the population show signs of mild dehydration.  Signs of mild dehydration can include headaches, fatigue, moodiness/irritability, short-term memory fuzziness, focusing, thirst, concentrated urine (the easiest symptom to be noted), and decreased urine output amongst other symptoms.

It’s important to keep in mind that many of the beverages we consume don’t do much for rehydrating our bodies.  Beverages, which contain a lot of caffeine, are diuretics.  Alcohol is a diuretic.  These cause you to lose fluids that your body is dependent on.

It’s equally important not to be drinking water to the extreme; as doing so, can cause negative health benefits.  It’s all about finding the right balance.

This is a sponsored post for Nicolet Natural Artesian Water, however, all the points and views are my own.
