CHOCOLATE A DAY Deluxe Multivitamin Review & Giveaway
A Chocolate A Day Deluxe Multivitamin – gluten free, sugar free, dairy free, non-GMO, and contains no fillers, waxes, substitute oils, or preservatives – it doesn’t get better than that!
Let me first start by saying – I am NOT a fan of dark chocolate. Nope. Not at all. That said, when asked if I’d like to review Chocolate A Day Deluxe Multivitamins – I decided I was going to bite the bullet and give them a whirl.
Seriously – I would be getting my vitamins and the taste of chocolate – if I liked them. I honestly didn’t think I’d like them, but would tolerate them, because I was killing two birds with one stone (eating chocolate & getting the health benefits from the vitamins and minerals).
Sometimes I just amaze myself. I’m so glad I bit that bullet and tried them. I really like them! The sad thing is, all one needs is one of these squares a day* and I want more. Yes, you read that right – I would love to open more than just one (each Chocolate A Day are individually packaged) everyday, and pop it into my mouth! I guess there’s something to the saying that one’s taste buds change every 7 years.
*Please note – you can have up to 4 of these wonderful vitamin chocolates per day – and should you be coming down with a cold – it is suggested that you do, as you’ll get 400% daily value of vitamin C, D etc. That said, maltitol, the sweetener in this product, which can produce a laxative effect, shouldn’t kick in until about 8 pieces (800% daily value) are consumed a day. Iron is not an issue either should you go with four pieces a day, as there is no iron in the product, in turn, there is no chance for overdose in kids.

A Chocolate A Day Supplement Facts
***Did you notice this product is gluten free, sugar free, dairy free, non-GMO, and contains no fillers, waxes, substitute oils, or preservatives?***
Did you notice that there are no artificial sweeteners in this product either? I won’t put anything in my mouth that contains artificial sweeteners because of what I experienced years ago. This product contains Maltitol.
Maltitol is a natural sweetener found in chicory leaves. It has similar properties to sugar but less calories. Our Maltitol is made from grains but itself is gluten free. Similar to sweeteners like xylitol, mannitol etc, maltitol may cause a slight laxative effect so it’s not recommended to consume more than 50 gm per day—equivalent to about 12 servings of Chocolate A Day.
With there only being the 4 grams of Maltitol in the product, I did not have any laxative effect.
The other supplement that stood out to me was that the vitamin D is in the form of vitamin D3. If you don’t know anything about vitamin D supplements, you want vitamin D3. This holds especially true for those who suffer a vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D3 is metabolized by the body much differently than ‘D2’, or ‘D’.
And did you notice that they have 1 carb? That’s great for diabetics. These are safe for kids too. Plus – you can bake with these!
The Chocolate A Day multivitamin was of quality when eaten. I did not notice a waxy after effect and the chocolate definitely had that bitter taste (well, what I consider bitter) for a dark chocolate. Did you know – if you’re going to eat chocolate, that dark chocolate holds the most health benefits…including aiding in preventing cavities?
Did I feel better after eating these for a couple of weeks? Well, honestly I didn’t notice a difference. That said, I would be my life that I am extremely deficient in most of these vitamins & minerals. I know that my vit. D level is very low (4 when tested which s/b in the 30-50 range).
I am going to continue on and finish the bag and perhaps might just have to buy more because I really liked them that much. The other piece to liking them – I can leave the bag at my desk without having a bottle of vitamins sitting in front of me, which just isn’t attractive. Though – I’m going to say it again – it really is hard to not open another once I have had my daily chocolate.
