Guest post of the week by Austin Fields
The Walking Dead is one of the best new shows out there. It’s the first some that focuses on a post apocalyptic world with zombies that is a drama. I know many times people hear the word Drama and are turned off, but the Walking Dead is ground breaking and reinventing and crossing several genres. All a Zombie Drama means is that you will be attached to the characters before they’re ripped to shreds by blood thirsty cannibals. If you’re unsure about it you should check it out, as it is getting great reviews and had fans from all walks of life. If you haven’t seen it there are quite a few plot twists and you shouldn’t let anyone tell you about it before delving into it.
The show is great and just finished it’s first season. It focuses on a police officer who wakes from a coma to find the world in ruin. It is based on a popular comic book by the same name. It’s great for anyone that is a fan of zombie movies and isn’t afraid of a little gore. The show has been ordered for a second and third season based merely on the strength of the first season and is a much watch for anyone that wants to see action, horror, and everything in between. It’s available on satellite from http://www.tvbydirect.com/nfl-sunday-ticket-deal.html through the premium channel AMC and will surely be around and gaining notoriety for years to come.

Home-Ec 101 is resourceful book filled with hints and tips to make your life easier while getting the job at hand completed efficiently. In reviewing chapter 20, Heather gives suggestions on how to make dinnertime at home during the week a habit rather than spending your precious money on fast foods. Providing the reader with tips on how to gradually work their way into the dinner time dilemma. Her goal is not to stress you out, but to make dinnertime a quick, healthful and engaging way, to get the task done.
Home-Ec 101 consists of four Sections with sub-topics under each section.
Section 1: Clean It…She takes you through the steps of getting the task done from having the right tools to getting to the nitty-gritty of Dust Mites. There are seven chapters in this section.
Section 2: Wash it…Learn how to handle stains, odors, and make minor garment repairs to the chore of doing the laundry. You’ll find four chapters in this section.
Section 3: Fix It…This section provides a Bare Minimum Handyman Guide, to fixing floor and walls. There are four chapters to this section
Section 4: Cook it…Heather starts out with there being hope for burned water to outfitting your kitchen with small appliances, pantry staples, meal planning and substitutions. There are six chapters to this section.
This book would make a fantastic bridal shower gift, a gift for those leaving the nest and moving into a dorm, an apartment, or a great stocking stuffer to put in a Hope Chest. However, personally I know there are others out there that could benefit from reading this book, as they simply don’t have a clue where to start.
Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of chapter 20 for review from One2Onenetwork. All opinions are my own.
