When someone becomes your follower on Twitter, how do you respond to the follow?   Do you return the follow by accepting each one individually when they come through to your email?  If you do, you are going to be excited over this website. Your Tweeter Karma can help you with this daunting task. And, the best part is it is FREE to use with the option of donating if you wish.

You will need to allow the application to sign in to your Twitter account and then you click on “Whack!” It will take a little time for the application to pull up all your followers and who you follow.  From there, you can make the choice of seeing ‘only followers’.  From there, all you need to do is click on ‘follow’ to follow that follower back.

Hope you find this site useful, I do.

Kids Bowl Free

Do you or anyone in your family like to go bowling?  I don’t bowl like I used to, but my father-in-law should own stock in our local bowling center!  That being said, he loves to take his grandchildren bowling (imagine that!).  Well, last year we learned of a summer program and he HAD to join.  The program is the Kids Bowl Free program.  This program enabled him to take my daughter bowling every day if he wanted to all summer long, and he would be able to bowl 2 games for free, as long as she accompanied him.  There were times when he didn’t go, but her cousin wanted to bowl so she would take my daughter, and she got to bowl free as she was on the same pass.  This program turned out to be a great way for my daughter, and other family members, to go bowling during the summer months…for next to nothing.
A family pass includes (taken from their site):

The Family Pass was created to allow for adult family members to enjoy bowling throughout the summer as well. The Family Pass starts from $24.95 and includes 2 GAMES PER PERSON PER DAY.

The Family Pass covers up to 4 adult family members. You may have 1, 2, 3, or 4 adults on the family pass. The price of the pass covers all 4 members.

Considering the price of the pass for the entire summer…this is a FABULOUS deal. Just think of those rainy days, or…Mom…I’m bored (I happen to dislike that word very much…the kids think they’re bored in these times…they should have been a kid when I was a kid!)

The purpose of freecycle is to keep usable items that have life left in them (not junk) out of landfills.  I have received many items from my fellow freecyclers such as…a fax/copier/scanner, an entertainment center, bookcases, end tables, a locking 4 shelf cabinet, computer desk (2…I outgrew one of them), clothing, and much more.  I have also posted many items for someone else’s taking…like TV’s, computer desks, clothing, and much more.

So what exactly is Freecycle.org?  It is communities of people who post items free via the freecycle group you belong too.  First, you sign up at freecycle.org by choosing a group (usually the nearest to your home).  From there, you read that group’s policy and guidelines.  One can ask for items that they are looking for before buying them in the event that someone has the item in need that may otherwise go to a landfill.

Just because something isn’t in perfect condition, it may very well be worth taking the time to paint or re-stain it.  It may be worth you gluing a drawer back together, or those loose chair rounds.  I have painted items over an over just b/c I love to redecorate all the time.  Other items I have received…I leave as is as they are just serving a purpose for the time being.  Some items I receive, I re-offer when I no longer have a need for them because they have life left in them.

Happy Sunday and Happy Freecycling!

Jessica, The Mom  is on a mission!  She would love for everyone to partake in this mission…which is very simple to do. Please refer to her website to read all the intricates of this mission.  What a fabulous way to give back to those in need.  There are so many who rely on food pantry’s these days…many being elderly or disabled, many with children.  Many receive SNAP benefits (food stamps), but one can’t buy soaps, laundry detergents, deodorant, toilet paper, shampoos, toothpaste, dish washing soap, lotions or anything of the like, with their SNAP benefits.  I know our local food pantry has reached out to all the town’s residents, as the need for help is high, and the supply is low. Here is what I propose:
Anytime you go on a shopping trip and purchase more than 5 of the same items at greatly discounted prices, take one of those items and contribute it to your newly dedicated “donate stash”.  If you bought 10 boxes of cereal at $1 a piece, are you really going to miss one box?  How about those deodorants & body washes that you got for free with double BOGO?  Or the free toothpaste that CVS is always giving away?
I’m going to run a little contest and I hope you will participate and encourage others to participate.  Let’s see how big we can make this collaborative donation!

THE PRIZE
For each of the first 100 participants, I will personally donate one item to a separate dedicated stash (up to 100 items).  The winner of the drawing will provide me with the name and address of a food pantry, church, or other charity of their choice and I will ship the items to them on behalf of the winner.  I will also write up a complete post-article that I will send as a press-release to the winner’s local newspaper and provide to any participant to share as they see fit.

heaven is for real
Imagine having your 4-yr. old tell you about his encounter with Heaven.  He tells you about the angels that sang to him, he tells you about the sister he has that he never met as you miscarried, he tells you about his great-grandfather he never met.  This is just what 4 yr.-old Colton tells his mom and dad after having a near-death experience. It all starts out by this young child from Nebraska being sick on a road trip to Colorado with his parents.  Having seen the doctors, and having been misdiagnosed not once, but twice; this young child survives a ruptured appendix that he lived with for approximately five days before being correctly diagnosed and having surgery.  After a difficult recovery he recounts his encounter with Heaven to his parents. You can view a video of this family’s experience and read what KY3.COM wrote about this.
