I got a call this morning about 11am from the hospital.  The nurse proceeds to tell me…Ryan was on the CPAP all morning and did real well so we are extubating Ryan ASAP!  By the time I made it to the hospital the vent was out, nasal cannula in place, and he had his eyes open!  He blew me a kiss and began to spell his name!  When I left to come home to get my daughter (who couldn’t believe I didn’t pull her out of school for the event), I left him watching a Barney DVD and he was smiling and tried to laugh.  Although he isn’t in the clear completely…this is a HUGE step in the right direction. Thank you all again…I am sure the thoughts and prayers sent our way…were all heard.  Today has been one of the best days of my life!

Thank you so much to all of you who have helped me get the word out on my giveaway!  I truly appreciate all that you have done and without your help I don’t believe I would have the entries I do.

Thank you for all your prayers. To update you on my son:  He’s still in ICU…still intubated…and being treated for post viral pneumonia.  Even though the pneumonia can’t be seen on xrays…they tell me they clearly can hear it.  For the first time Wednesday, they lowered all the settings on the ventilator and tried the CPAP machine…he responded well. There’s a long process in weaning one off a ventilator so I am told…so I’m hoping this means all is heading in the right direction.
