fairy hobmother

Yes, the Fairy Hobmother paid FCS a visit!  How cool is that?  Not familiar with the Fairy Hobmother?  The Fairy Hobmother bounces around from blog to blog spreading good cheer.  The problem?  I wish I could see this Fairy Hobmother or have some kind of an image to associate the Fairy Hobmother with.

We know what Tinkerbell looks like.  We know what Santa looks like.  We know what elves look like.  So why not what the Fairy Hobmother looks like? He/she (and that is killing me too – is this Fairy Hobmother a male or a female…”mother” indicates female, but hob – that could change that?) needs a button  so that we have an image to put to the name…don’t ya think?

For now, I guess this all means it’s up to my imagination to decide what I would like the Fairy Hobmother to look like…right?  When I asked my daughter what she envisions a Fairy Hobmother to look like – she told me, “A Fairy Hobmother is male, has black hair, blue eyes and doesn’t wear a green dress like Tinkerbell”  One of her friends envisions this, “A fairy Gremlin.”  Hmm…this is definitely not what I envision. Take a look:

Myself, I envision this tiny floaty figure that is partially transparent, dressed in pastel colors with golden wings.  There’s a halo on its head made of pure gold.  Its shoes are tiny with pointed toes and to walk – the Fairy Hobmother walks on the tips of these shoes.  As you can see  – she incorporated a couple of my thoughts into her drawing 🙂

Bottom line is we all envision things differently if it’s something that is the unknown. What is your envisionment of the Fairy Hobmother?   You can visit the Fairy Hobmother online – but be prepared – you’re not headed to Fairy Land 🙂

  1. Congratulations on being so lucky to get chosen by The Fairy Hobmother. I agree we need an image for the hobmother :). I think your idea image of him is very nice, I couldn’t come up with a better image if I’d tried. Sure, would love a visit from him myself :). http://urcnstarz.blogspot.com/

  3. I would think the Fairy Hobmother would look like a male mixture of the Wicked Witch of the West and Magi from FernGully. He’d definitely live in a tree. He’d also talk to the animals and be a bit twitchy like Radagast from the Hobbit.

  4. I would Love for the Fairy Hobmother to visit my page!! I had to take time away due to family issues and I need a pick me up over on http://www.beantownica.com

  5. Love it and I totally agree! My mind conjured up a much different image of what the Fairy Hobmother might look like. I envision a shorter than average male, kind and gentle face, possibly a (much) younger version of George Burns? I happen to be a huge fan…of both.

  6. How fun! I have heard about the Fairy Hobmother for a few months now and I have been wanting (wishing) he/she would visit my site! I think this is such a fun and unique idea by the way! Congrats on your visit!
