THE MANY USES FOR APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
 
For all the mommies who use cloth diapers…when you launder then add 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar to the final rinse water.  This will make them softer and help prevent diaper rash.
Anti-inflammatory/antibacterial agent:  When mixing sea salt with apple cider vinegar and applying it to sprains, Ringworm, nail fungus, bunions, corns, calluses, warts, shingles, boil, ant black fly, mosquito bites, wasp, bee stings and even poison ivy it acts as a powerful antibacterial agent and anti-inflammatory.
For a bloody nose: apply a compress of 2 tsp. apple cider vinegar and 1 cup water to the base of the neck to the top of the nose- this helps constrict blood vessels.
Bugs: Repel lice and bed bugs with a combination of the essential oils of tea tree, rosemary, lavender, and peppermint.  Make them into a spray and spray on hair and bedding.
Digestive: It is to be believed that apple cider vinegar improves digestive ailments, correcting constipation, improving digestion and increasing one’s metabolic rate.  One cup of warm water mixed with one tbsp apple cider vinegar will help heartburn when sipped slowly.
Indigestion, nausea, and motion sickness is claimed to improve when you drink a mix of 2 tsp. of apple cider vinegar and raw honey in a glass of warm water daily.
Congested anyone?  This is a good one….mix 2 tsp. apple cider vinegar and honey in a cup of hot water and drink 3 times a day.  It breaks up mucus congestion and cough.  Honey, in itself, is known to calm the airways of asthmatics.

  2. I had a huge list a friend of mine gave to me for the many uses that you wouldn’t think of for apple cider vinegar. She is a massage therapist and seemed to know of quite a few uses. It’s amazing the things some common household ingredients can help with though 🙂

  4. Homemade Cough Drops: Boil 1 cup black strap or unsulphered molasses until firm ball forms in ice water and syrup coats spoon. Remove from heat,add 1/2 tsp. backing soda, stir well and add 1 small RAW onion, diced.
    Pour onto chilled, well buttered cookie sheet, wait 15 minutes, then cut into small squares.

  5. Thanks for sharing this. I swear by apple cider vinegar. I buy the good stuff at our local co-op that contains the mother. You’ve given me some new uses that I didn’t even know about or would consider.

  6. Wow, this is really great! I’ve never seen these before. For the “bug” one – are you supposed to use all of these oils at once? I have a kid with a sensitivity to tea tree oil.

  7. Who knew there are so many uses of Apple Cider Vinegar?! I usually have a bunch and it just sits there, waiting to be used 🙂 My husband is ALWAYS coughing and congested, I am trying the vinegar and honey mix for him TONIGHT! Having a very rambunctious 7 year old leads to bloody noses more often than I like, so the compress is going to be a life saver! Thanks so much for the post! These are going to be put to good use!

  9. My cousin uses apple cider vinegar and baking soda instead of shampoo. She has been doing this for well over a year and has the most soft managable hair I have ever seen.
