I have this huge beef when I call companies and don’t get a human on the other end.   I hate it even more so when they have the recording set up where you have to listen to all this crap before being able to make a selection to get where you want to be.  I understand companies want to run efficiently and cost effectively, and all that good stuff, but at what cost?  Don’t they think our time is valuable?

When I have to make a long distance call…I don’t use my landline.  I use my cell phone for the mere fact that I don’t want to pay for long distance on my landline when I really don’t use it that often…thus, the call is made on the cell.  However, during peak hours a long distant call means taking away from my minutes which happen to be shared by 4 other family members.  I hate having to listen to this menu and then that menu just to get to a human!

Needless to say, I have learned many ways to get around these recordings to get to a human, but have discovered a list that goes into further detail for many of the major companies….so I thought I would share it with you. Here’s the link: http://www.dialahuman.com/

I am bookmarking it….never to be deleted!

Hope all you mother’s had a fantastic Mother’s Day,

  2. Thanks for sharing this! I agree with what you wrote, too. I get so peeved when it takes 20 minutes to make a call that should've taken 10 tops.

I'm going to try this next time… 🙂

  4. Hi – thanks for letting me know that the comments field wasn't showing on GivingNSharing. It was just there yesterday but I've been playing with a new template and maybe that's when it disappeared. I don't know. For now, I'm having to manually add it with each post – hopefully someone'll come up with a solution to the question I asked on a blogger forum. We'll see.

You have a great blog. I get these calls and they are automated from companies. I think that is so rude! I hang up on them. If there is a real live person I'll be polite and then tell them I'm not interested.

    Thanks! Tina
